SPRINGBOK FLYHALF ATTRACTS TREMENDOUS INTEREST
Springbok flyhalf, Handre Pollard is about to become a free agent.
His Leicester Tigers contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Meaning, the star flyhalf is about to become one of, if not, the hottest free agents in World Rugby.
“Handre Pollard is in high demand, with as many as 10 clubs worldwide reportedly willing to pay more than R10 million for the two-time World Cup-winning Springbok flyhalf,”SARugby reported.
POLLARD LINKED WITH POSSIBLE SA RETURN
Interestingly, cubs in SA are linked as well. Therefore, a massive return to SA is on the cards for the Springbok skipper.
“Pollard's contract with Leicester Tigers expires at the end of the season, and while the English club hopes to retain him, Rapport claims several teams – including some in South Africa – have made inquiries about his future,” they continued.
However, at the time of publication, it is unclear which SA franchises are interested.
“Four Japanese clubs are reportedly leading the race for the former Vodacom Bulls playmaker, with the financial muscle to offer a salary that few teams can match,” they concluded.
Ultimately, Pollard will not be shy of options as potential suitors monitor his next move. Furthermore, the Springboks star is likely to gain even more interest when he leaves English giants, Leicester.
