Japan head coach Eddie Jones has called on his team to stay committed despite a series of disappointing results, including several heavy defeats, during his nearly year-long second tenure in charge.
Since Jones' return, Japan has managed just four wins against seven losses, with crushing 40-plus point defeats to New Zealand, France, and England highlighting their struggles.
Speaking to reporters late Tuesday after returning from Japan's European tour, the Australian acknowledged there is "no magical solution" but expressed confidence that his side would make progress.
"They're the sort of experiences this team needs," Jones said of the tour, which ended with a 59-14 thrashing by his former team England at Twickenham on Sunday.
"I know you're all sitting there thinking we got beat by 50 points but they're games we need to actually learn [from].
"The big challenge now is how quickly we can learn," he added.
