2024 Boks: Bright start fades in sweaty Santiago

The Springboks slipped up for just the second time in 2024 after Argentina came from a 17-point deficit to claim victory in hot and humid conditions in Santiago del Estero.

A 68th-minute penalty from flyhalf Tomos Albornoz gave Argentina a 29-28 victory, after the home side trailed 17-0 in the opening 15 minutes.

Despite the defeat, the Springboks set themselves up to claim the Rugby Championship title in the return match in Nelspruit, needing a solitary point from the final-round match.
