Kitsie's back!

Steven Kitshoff is close to making his return after the DHL Stormers confirmed the World Cup-winning prop took part in training this week.

Kitshoff has not played since taking part in what turned out to be his final game in Ulster colours in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals in May.

The two-time World Cup winner has been sidelined by a knee injury, which ruled him out of the July internationals against Ireland and Portugal.

However, Kitshoff appears to be closing in on a return to action, in what will be a massive boost for club and country.

The 32-year-old was photographed in training this week, with the DHL Stormers posting a picture of Kitshoff on their official social media channels.

Kitshoff was joined by Ruhan Nel, with the veteran centre also close to a return after missing half of last season with a knee injury he suffered in a derby match against the Sharks in December 2023.

The powerful loosehead prop, who has 138 DHL Stormers caps to his name, returned to Cape Town on a two-year deal after a season in Belfast.

Kitshoff led the Stormers to the Vodacom United Rugby Championship title in 2022 and could make his return to the playing field for DHL Western Province in the Currie Cup.

News of his return will be welcomed by Rassie Erasmus and the Springboks, as the world champions prepare to embark on an Australian tour to open their Rugby Championship campaign in August.
