THIS week on the pod, Burnsy and Barney digest the first weekend of action in the 2025 Guinness Six Nations and there is plenty to chew over, including:

  • Another dispiriting defeat for the Under-20s on Friday might, but should we be too despondent?
  • Were Wales crap, or France really good, or both?
  • Same old Scotland in the senior match against Italy or signs of progress?
  • Are Ireland back to their magnificent best or are there chinks in their armour which Gregor Townsend’s boys can exploit on Sunday?

The boys also take a look ahead at round two, and ask: Stafford McDowall or Tom Jordan at 12?  Does Jack Dempsey start at No 8? And is it time for  change-up in the second-row?

We also hear from Richie Vernon and Chris Fusaro, who have linked up with fellow ex-Scotland and Glasgow stars Ruaridh Jackson and Ryan Grant to tackle an epic cycling challenge Doddie's Grand Tour 2025 – pedalling 700 mile in four days to raise money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and to help boost awareness of the fight to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

They started the challenge this [Wednesday] morning in Stranraer, joining up with some real nutters who started the challenge in Dublin on Tuesday morning, and will then make their way through the Borders, up to the highlands, and then head back down to Edinburgh for Saturday lunchtime, in time for a pint and a burger in the Grassmarket whilst watching Italy versus Italy and England versus France on a big screen.
