SCOTLAND will play four Test matches this Autumn – against the USA on Saturday 1st November (5,40pm kick-off), New Zealand on Saturday 8th November (3.10pm), Argentina on Sunday 16th November (3.10pm kick-off) and Tonga in Sunday 23rd November (1.40pm kick-off) – it has been announced. All the matches will be played at Murrayfield.

The rather less than inspiring or convenient (with two Sunday matches) schedule is bound to mean that ticket sales – a key financial driver for Scottish Rugby as it tries to recover from over £22m losses in the last two financial year – will be much more of a challenge than if either or both of South Africa and Australia were on the roster.

Meanwhile, England play Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina with three Saturday matches, Ireland play New Zealand, Japan, Australia and South Africa with all Saturday matches, and Wales play Argentina, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa with three Saturday matches.

France will not play outside the international window meaning three Saturday matches against South Africa, Fiji and Australia, and Italy face Australia, South Africa and Samoa on consecutive Saturdays.

Scotland’s summer tour schedule is yet to be fully confirmed. Their tour The tour will kick-off against Māori All Blacks at Semenoff Stadium in Whangārei on Saturday 5th July before progressing to the Pacific Islands where they are expected to play Fiji at least once plus one other match.
