DUNCAN WEIR has announced that his season is over with a post on social media showing the stand-off in a hospital bed following a shoulder operation.

“Gutted my seasons came to an end but looking forward to cheer on the lads the rest of the way! Here's to getting fighting fit for next season 👷‍♂️🐎,” stated Weir in the post.

The 33-year-old played the second half of Glasgow Warriors’ United Rugby Championship victory over Munster two weekends ago, but was listed as unavailable due to a shoulder injury for the team’s match against Emirates Lions on Saturday night.

The other stand-offs in the Glasgow Warriors senior squad are Adam Hastings and Tom Jordan, while Richie Simpson and Mathew Urwin are in the academy.
