O'Connell, a towering second-row like his legendary uncle Paul, has been a standout since joining Munster's academy in 2022.

After making his debut against the All Blacks XV at Thomond Park in November, O'Connell has racked up appearances against Emirates Lions, Stade Français, and Ulster. He even earned a Champions Cup start in Munster's thrilling victory over Stade Français. The 20-year-old has also captained Munster A in the A Interprovincial Championship, showing leadership far beyond his years.

Alex Kendellen: 79 games and counting
Joining O'Connell in committing to Munster is flanker Alex Kendellen, who penned a fresh two-year deal. At just 23, Kendellen has already made 79 senior appearances and led Emerging Ireland on their South Africa tour. The back-row dynamo continues to prove why he's one of the province's brightest stars.

Ruadhán Quinn: A record-breaking prodigy
Munster's back-row talent doesn't stop there. Ruadhán Quinn, who became the province's youngest pro-era player at 18, has also earned a senior contract. The 21-year-old has scored two tries in 14 appearances and looks set to become a key figure in Munster's future.
