The 33-year-old fly-half, sidelined by an adductor injury for much of the 2024/25 season, made his first appearance since January in Racing's crucial 23-21 win over Clermont.
Coming on as a 32nd-minute substitute for Fiji’s Josua Tuisova, Farrell’s influence was immediately felt as he helped guide the team to their second win in 10 matches.
The Lions Are Watching
Despite being a replacement for Racing's win, Farrell's cameo performance has put him right back in the mix for a potential Lions spot. Clubmate Dan Lancaster also impressed at fly-half, and has subsequently been linked with an international call-up.
Leicester Tigers on the Hunt
Farrell, with 112 caps for England and a key figure in the Lions’ 2013, 2017, and 2021 tours, has been linked with a return to England, with Leicester Tigers reportedly looking to replace Handré Pollard. However, the veteran fly-half is expected to see through his contract in France.
Lions Tour on the Horizon?
His comeback could be the perfect stepping stone towards a Lions tour, as Farrell makes his intentions clear and eyes another opportunity on the international stage.
