Posolo Tuilagi might be sidelined for the rest of the season with a brutal double leg break, but that hasn't stopped clubs across Europe from eyeing up the 20-year-old powerhouse.
RUCK's Autumn Nations Series coverage is proudly powered by the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, dedicated to creating a world free of MND. Join the the fight against MND here.
Currently contracted to Perpignan, who are desperate to keep hold of him, the French international is the talk of the town – and it's no wonder.
Top 14 or Premiership? Both Want Him
The big man, who's already earned five caps for France this year, is attracting serious interest from the likes of Toulon and Toulouse in the Top 14, while Premiership clubs, including Pat Lam's Bristol Bears, are also keen to bring him over to England.
With his size and power, Posolo could be a perfect fit for any team looking to strengthen their forward pack.
The Injury That Shook Us All
Back in September, Posolo's promising season came to a crushing halt when he was stretchered off the pitch after just 17 minutes in Perpignan's 33-3 victory over Clermont.
The horrific tibia-fibula fracture to his left leg (aka his shin) left the rugby world stunned.
But Posolo's recovery seems to be going well – he even shared an Instagram Story from his hospital bed, reassuring fans: "The operation went well thank you all for your messages and support."
How Long Will He Be Out?
While there's no confirmed timeline for his return, the 149kg wrecking ball will likely face a long spell on the sidelines. Still, that hasn't dampened the excitement around his future – and his next move.
With a legacy at Welford Road thanks to his father, Henry Tuilagi's legendary status at Leicester, don't be surprised if the Tigers show interest too. RUCK sources also suggest Saracens would be interested if they can find a place for powerhouse within the salary cap.
Wherever Posolo ends up, we're all hoping to see him back on the field soon!
England centre Manu Tuilagi planning on swapping nations for the 2027 Rugby World Cup
Although some players are more likely to do so than others, here we discuss five players who could potentially switch.
#1. Manu Tuilagi to Samoa
In an extensive interview with The Daily Telegraph, the youngest Tuilagi revealed that while "England is very special to me, of course, but my heart and home is still Samoa."
“I’d love to pull on the blue jersey one day,”
Manu, who is named after the Samoan national side, is the odd one out of his rugby-playing brothers, as Anitelea, Alesana, Henry and Freddie all opted to play for Manu Samoa rather than any of the European nations they spent time living in throughout their professional careers.
Tuilagi could be available for Samoa in 2027, Rugby World Cup though time isn’t on his side as he would be 35 by then.
Ollie Hassell-Collins (Wales)
The Leicester Tigers winger, who was given his debut by Borthwick in 2023, has expressed his willingness to potentially represent Wales in 2026.
Despite earning two caps for England during last year’s Six Nations, the 25-year-old hasn’t been included in Steve Borthwick’s squad since then. Notably, he was absent from England A’s recent triumph over Portugal.
Ahead of this year’s Six Nations, Gatland had mentioned Hassell-Collins several times, especially during the discussion surrounding another dual-qualified winger, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso.
"I have seen Gatland's interview," Hassell-Collins told the Telegraph.
"I've got two caps for England, and obviously I'm English. But if I don't see anything in the next few years then it's definitely something that I would consider.
"I would qualify [for Wales] the year of the World Cup – that is, if he still wants me. Wales is still part of who I am.
“My grandma was Welsh and I still have family over there. It's still a part of me – and I'd never turn it down – but for now it's England for me."
Nathan Hughes (Fiji)
When asked if he’d be open to swapping nations, he told Rugby Pass: "Yes, 100 per cent,"
He added: "I'm just focusing purely on Black Rams and just playing as well as I can and letting the selectors do their job.
"The coaches and their staff are all in Europe at the moment and I'm not sure when they will be coming to Japan. We'll wait until the day comes.
“If he picks me, we will make the decision then, but we have got two more games to go (at Black Rams) and we are trying to finish as high as we can up the table and go from there."
