Harlequins Women forward Abbie Fleming believes consistency will be key to getting their top four ambitions with the club come the end of the Premiership Women’s Rugby season.
Harlequins Women finished seventh last year after a disappointing season, and in an extremely competitive league, the ability to string together performances will be important to change last year’s fortunes around.
"We have spoken a lot as a group about where we want to finish up this year, we are really looking for top four.
"Last year we really struggled for consistency around our performances and making sure they are consistent and reliable performances as well is important as they are going to be the ones that get us up there and around the top four."
Bristol, however, come into this week’s fixture after a romping 57-10 victory over Manchester based outfit Sale Sharks and with both teams wanting to play ball in hand the Welsh international is expecting an open game.
"They really like to move the ball, bring it from edge to edge and play with a great depth so we are really going to have to try and use our physicality to counteract that.
""I think it's going to be a really good game for us, we have a really strong side this season and we have a lot of impact off the bench so hopefully we can be a threat in the first and second half as well."
That stronger squad has also allowed Fleming to play around the back five of the scrum a bit more, something that she says will aid her international ambitions.
"I've got the ability to play in the second row as well so that has been great for me, from an international perspective to play where I predominantly play with Wales.
"To be able to play in the back row here is great as it's allowed me to work on other skills and slide into the system really well," added the former Exeter Chiefs player.
"I'm really enjoying it, and I enjoy playing with all the girls here and it's great now that we have signed Alex (Callender), obviously she is a fellow teammate of mine at Wales so that really helps our relationship on field and off field.
"It's been great to work closer with some of my international team mates along with my club ones as well."
