Gabby Logan was bursting with pride as her son, Reuben, made his debut for Scotland in the U20 Six Nations.

The 19-year-old flanker, who plays for Northampton Saints, made the switch from England ahead of the tournament, following in the footsteps of his father, Kenny Logan, who earned 70 caps for Scotland. Reuben had previously represented England U18s and was part of England's U20s Elite Player Squad earlier this season.

A sporting legacy

Reuben's sporting pedigree is no surprise, given his parents' impressive backgrounds. His mother, Gabby Logan, is one of the UK's most respected sports broadcasters, having fronted coverage of major events including the Olympics, the Six Nations, and the FIFA World Cup. A former international gymnast, she represented Wales in the 1990 Commonwealth Games before transitioning into a hugely successful media career.

His father, Kenny Logan, was a key figure for Scotland during his 13-year international rugby career, making 70 appearances for his country and playing in three Rugby World Cups. After retiring, he has remained involved in rugby while also raising awareness for dyslexia, a condition he was diagnosed with later in life.

A family affair

Thanks to his mother's Welsh roots, Reuben had a third option on the international stage but ultimately committed to Scotland. He made his first appearance in dark blue on Friday night against Italy at Hive Stadium in Edinburgh.

While the young Scots fell to a 10-22 defeat, it was still a special moment for Reuben and his family. Gabby, Kenny, and Reuben's twin sister, Lois, were in the stands to cheer him on, with Gabby later sharing a heartwarming family snap at full-time.

Six Nations duties

It was a working weekend for Logan, who was also in the Scottish capital to front the BBC's coverage of Scotland's Six Nations opener against Italy at Murrayfield. This time, the home side enjoyed better fortunes, securing a 31-19 victory to finish the opening weekend second in the table.

Four players England should drop – and who Steve Borthwick should replace them with

For England, it's a sixth defeat in seven matches under Borthwick and a baptism of fire for Maro Itoje in his first game since replacing Jamie George as captain.

With a crucial clash against France at the Allianz Stadium up next, here are four changes Borthwick must consider.

#1. Freddie Steward

Telegraph 4/10: “His worst nightmare of facing a scrum half in open space recurred as Gibson-Park did him dirty as badly as Grant Williams had. England need more than a safety blanket at full back.”

Replacement: George Hendy

#2. Cadan Murley

Planet Rugby 4/10: “Had a great moment early on when he scored a debut try but a bit rabbit in the headlights after that. Made a couple of errors no Test player should ever really make, quite frankly. Murley should be backed next weekend as you can see the talent and potential, but it was a big learning curve in Dublin”

Guardian 5/10: “Quickly snaffled a try on debut, but later invited pressure on teammates twice with a serious lack of composure in defence.”

Telegraph 4/10: “After what set to be a dream debut, scoring a try after eight minutes, Ireland turned his life into a nightmare, forcing into some horrible naive errors.”

Evening Standard 5/10: “Got off to a flyer on his debut by scoring inside the opening 10 minutes. Had a tough second half, though, and was shaky on kick defence. Did assist Curry's try.”

Replacement: Tom Roebuck
