Veteran prop Tadhg Furlong is one of three key players set to return for Ireland's final Six Nations game against Italy on Saturday.

Furlong, along with winger Mack Hansen and centre Garry Ringrose, is available and could feature in the pivotal clash for the Irish in Rome.

Simon Easterby's men still have an outside chance of winning the title despite their defeat against France last week but would need an unlikely sequence of results.

James Lowe (back) and Ronan Kelleher (neck) are being monitored, with a decision on their availability to be made later this week. The Ireland team will be named on Thursday.

IRELAND BOSS: We can't dwell on disappointment

The 32-year-old Furlong, who has suffered hamstring and calf injuries in recent months, has not played a Test since last July. Hansen missed the loss to France with an injury while Ringrose is available after suspension.

The game at the Stadio Olimpico will mark the end of the Test careers of Peter O'Mahony, Conor Murray and Cian Healy.

Ireland, gunning for an unlikely third straight Six Nations title, are third in the table, two points behind hot favourites France and a point behind England.

France, who have a hugely superior points difference, host Scotland in Paris on Saturday, with England travelling to face winless Wales.
