The Bulls have relayed an important information regarding the injuries to their three crocked Springbok players, Ruan Nortje, Elrigh Louw and Johan Goosen.

In a big blow for the Bulls and potentially the Springboks, loose forward Louw suffered a setback in his recovery. It had been confirmed that Louw needed corrective surgery after suffering a horrible knee injury in the Bulls’ derby against the Lions two weeks ago at Ellis Park.

But in an unexpected turn of events, the operation has been delayed due to swelling around the area. After consultation with a specialist, the 25-year-old Springbok is scheduled to have an operation within the next two weeks and his rehab programme will only become clear then.

Bok lock Nortje, who serves as Bulls co-captain alongside Louw, injured his knee ligament in the same match on 25 January .

And as per the Bulls’ statement, the Springbok lock didn’t require surgery and has already begun his non-invasive recovery and rehab programme. He is expected to only return in eight to 10 weeks from now.

Meanwhile, Goosen is two-weeks post surgery after successfully undergoing a knee operation. The former Springbok flyhalf limped off the field during the Bulls' Investec Champions Cup encounter against French side Stade Francais at Loftus.

The Bulls confirmed that Goosen’s rehabilitation programme is expected to run for eight to 10 weeks.
