Cape Town Stadium could reportedly host two Springbok Tests this year.

The Boks’ Rugby Championship match against the Wallabies on 23 August has already been awarded to WP Rugby by SA Rugby.

And now an additional home Test against Japan is likely to take place at Cape Town Stadium too, according to Rapport.

It is set to be the first meeting between the teams since the 2019 World Cup quarter-final in Tokyo, which the Boks won 26-3.

Getting a second Test would be a big financial boost for WP Rugby, who made more than R25-million from hosting last year’s Rugby Championship match against the All Blacks.
