Centurion Peter Grant was a tough-as-nails playmaker with an unerring boot in front of goal for the DHL Stormers.

The composed flyhalf was the fulcrum in the franchise's backline from 2006 to 2014, providing direction and accuracy with his sharp passing and pinpoint kicking game.

Grant's goal-kicking success rate often hovered around 90% while winning over supporters with his big hits on defence, earning the nickname "Bash".

His on-field abilities aside, the prodigious playmaker was also an invaluable leader as a long-time and experienced member of the squad.

Among his many highlights, Grant played a pivotal role for the DHL Stormers in several Super Rugby campaigns, guiding the team to two semi-finals (2011 and 2012) and the final in 2010.

A schoolboy prodigy with Maritzburg College in Pietermaritzburg, Grant moved to Stellenbosch University in 2003 before making his DHL Western Province debut a year later.

In 2010, Grant joined Japanese club Kobelco Steelers on a dual contract that allowed him to continue playing for the DHL Stormers. He earned his 100th cap in his final season, linking up with French club Stade Rochelais after 104 appearances and 886 points for the DHL Stormers.

Grant scored 83 points across 22 outings in France, before hanging up his boots in 2019 following stints with the Western Force and Perth Spirit.

He earned five Test caps for the Springboks between 2007 and 2008 during his time at the DHL Stormers.
