The Exeter Chiefs are reportedly targeting a Stormers hooker to replace Dan Frost, who will join Bath next season.

According to RugbyPass, Joseph Dweba has caught the attention of Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter.

Dweba has not played for the Springboks since the warm-up Test against Argentina ahead of the 2023 World Cup, but was on Friday included in a 56-man group of locally-based players for the first alignment camp of the year.

The 29-year-old, who is nearing the end of his Stormers contract, reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from the Sale Sharks last year to stay in Cape Town.

Dweba has also been linked with a move to France, where he had a stint with Bordeaux from 2020 to 2022, and Japan.
