ADAM HASTINGS will wear the No 15 jersey when he makes his Glasgow Warriors comeback from three months out with a facial injury in Saturday night’s URC round 12 match against Ospreys at Scotstoun, taking over from Josh McKay who has an ankle injury. That means Ollie Smith continues at outside-centre and Duncan Weir remains at stand-off, while Ben Afshar comes in at scrum-half in place of George Horne, who has not been released by Scotland to play club rugby during this Six Nations fallow weekend.

There is only one change to the pack which started against Dragons a fortnight ago with Patrick Schickerling coming in at loose-head prop in place of Jamie Bhatti.

As indicated by Warriors assistant coach Nigel Carolan on Tuesday, South African second-row JP du Preez is set to make his first appearance in 650 days after completing his rehabilitation from a knee injury, having been named on the bench for Saturday night’s match.

Elsewhere amongst the replacements, veteran scrum-half Sean Kennedy could make his first appearance of the season, while youngster Kerr Johnston has a chance to build on his debut appearance last time out as the other back on the bench, with head coach Franco Smith having opted for his customary six-two split.

"Everyone is looking forward to running out for our Origin Round encounter tomorrow night; we want to inspire the next generation of Warriors in the same way that the coaches, parents and volunteers of our clubs inspired our 2024/25 squad,” said Smith.

"The Ospreys compete hard across the field, and they have the quality across their squad to cause problems for any team in the competition.

"We're also extremely pleased to welcome JP back to the matchday 23 after his long-term injury – he was worked incredibly hard behind the scenes with our medical and S&C teams to get back to full fitness, and everyone is looking forward to seeing him pull on the jersey once more."
