GLASGOW WARRIORS have been boosted by the release of five players – George Horne, Jamie Bhatti, Euan Ferrie, Jack Mann and Ollie Smith – from Scotland’s Six Nations training camp, and also the recovery from a knee injury sustained in December of up-and-coming second-row Jare Oguntibeju for Sunday’s trip to Newport to take on Dragons in the United Rugby Championship.

Franco Smith has made five changes to the starting XV he sent out against Connacht a fortnight ago for this match, with tight-head prop Fin Richardson, second-row Alex Samuel, flanker Henco Venter and No 8 Mann the only survivors in the pack.

It is a more settled backline with Horne coming in at scum-half for the benched Ben Afshar the only change, mea ing stand-off Duncan Weir once again captains the side. Sebastian Cancelliere will make his 50th appearance for Glasgow on the right-wing.

There are two potential debutants on the bench, with Macenzzie Duncan and Kerr Johnston having both been unused replacement against Connacht.

Smith’s options are limited in the back-five of the scrum at the moment meaning hooker Angus Fraser is named as back-row cover on the bench.

"The squad is looking forward to getting back out onto the field this weekend, and that has shown through in a highly-focused training week,” said head coach Smith

"We know the Dragons have talented players throughout their squad, and will be playing for a passionate home support behind them at Rodney Parade.

"We're also pleased to include Macenzzie and Kerr in our match-day 23 once more, and to see Sebastian reach 50 appearances for us this weekend – he is someone who knows what it means to be a Warrior and always gives 100% in his performances."
