NEWS: French investigating magistrates have ordered ordered two alleged suspects to be tried for the murder of former Argentina international Federico Martin Aramburu following a shooting in 2022.

The 42-year-ole Aramburu was in a bar with another player in Paris on March 19 2022 when they got into an argument with Loik Le Priol and Romain Bouvier.

After the duo left, the two accused are suspected of having fired numerous shots at Aramburu in which turned to be fatal.

The 30-year-old Le Priol is a former commando and a member of a recently dissolved ultra-right movement.

He was arrested four days following the ordeal at the Hungary-Ukraine border, where he told police he was 'going to Ukraine to fight' after Russia's invasion.

The 33-year-old Bouvier is a close friend of Le Priol.

Both are currently in detention, accused of the 'premeditated armed violence' towards Shaun Hegarty who was with Aramburu on the evening of the Argentine's death.

Two other people, including Le Priol's partner, will also be tried, accused of aiding in the killing and helping Le Priol escape.

Lawyers in the case were unavailable for immediate comment.

Aramburu had been living in the Biarritz which is south of France after his retirement.

He played for Perpignan, Biarritz and Dax in France as well for the Glasgow Warriors.

He earned 22 caps for Argentina between 2004 and 2009.
