So much so that Gregor Townsend is now reportedly taking notice. The Scotland head coach is said to be eyeing Dan as a potential addition to his ranks.

Lancaster Jr. boasts a unique rugby resume. Thanks to his Dumfries-born grandmother, he first represented Scotland U18s before switching allegiances to play for England U20s. Could a return to his Scottish roots be on the cards? Watch this space.

However, with his stint in France making him ineligible for England, the door remains open for a potential Scotland call-up, given their more flexible selection rules.

A versatile playmaker, Lancaster impressed at both fly-half and inside centre during his time with Ealing Trailfinders last season.
