Stuart Lancaster has fired back at former England fly-half Andy Goode, slamming his claims about unrest at Racing 92 and his alleged interest in the Munster job.

Goode dropped the bombshell on The Rugby Pod, stating: "Either Lanny wants out, or they want him out." He also alleged that French players were unhappy with Lancaster's decision to select his son, Dan, at fly-half.

But Lancaster wasn't having it. Speaking to French outlet RMC Sport, the former England boss hit out at the "lies" being spread: "I was disappointed by the lies told about me. One of them started in England about my departure for Munster, which is totally false. I lost all the respect I had for the people on the podcast who said that."

A World Full of Misinformation

Lancaster didn't stop there, calling out those who ran with the rumours unchecked: "What disappointed me the most was the fact that other people presented information on their websites as true without checking the facts. We live in a world full of false information; it is a responsibility to check it."

Goode’s Munster Link Claims

Goode, speaking on punditry duty, suggested Lancaster might already have his eyes on Munster's vacant head coach role after Graham Rowntree’s exit. He added fuel to the fire by questioning Lancaster's relationship with Racing's French players:
"Apparently, the French lads are not happy with Stuart Lancaster whatsoever. The easy thing to do over in France is to blame the non-French option, and Lanny's under some heat."

A Tough Start in Paris

Lancaster joined Racing 92 from Leinster in 2023, but it's been a rocky start. The club sits ninth in the Top 14 after five wins in 12 matches, trailing leaders Toulouse by 17 points. While Racing have beaten Harlequins in the Champions Cup, a defeat away to Sale Sharks has only added to the scrutiny.
