The former England head coach has left the Parisian club with immediate effect, bringing an early end to a turbulent stint in France.
Lancaster, who joined Racing in 2023, departs after a disappointing campaign that saw the club fail to make the Investec Champions Cup knockout stages while languishing in 12th place in the Top 14 following nine league defeats.
In his place, former Racing prop Patrice Collazo will take charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.
Confirming the news, Racing released a statement saying: "Racing 92 and Stuart Lancaster have decided to end their collaboration with immediate effect.
“Racing 92 thanks Stuart Lancaster and wishes him the best for his future. For his part, Stuart wishes Racing 92 the best for the end of this season and for future seasons."
Now, speculation is already swirling about Lancaster's next move, with a potential return to Ireland with Munster on the cards. However, the biggest rumour is linking him with a move back to the Premiership, where Leicester Tigers are on the hunt for a new boss.
Tigers head coach Michael Cheika has confirmed he will leave Welford Road at the end of the season, having only taken charge last summer on a short-term deal. Leicester, who are currently fourth in the Premiership and through to the last 16 of the Champions Cup, are seeking their ninth head coach in under nine years.
Reports last week suggested Tigers have already sounded out former Leicester prop and current Munster boss Graham Rowntree as a potential successor. But with Lancaster now available, the race for Welford Road's hot seat just got even more interesting.

PREDICTOR GAME:
Four players England should drop – and who Steve Borthwick should replace them with
For England, it's a sixth defeat in seven matches under Borthwick and a baptism of fire for Maro Itoje in his first game since replacing Jamie George as captain.
With a crucial clash against France at the Allianz Stadium up next, here are four changes Borthwick must consider.
#1. Freddie Steward
Telegraph 4/10: “His worst nightmare of facing a scrum half in open space recurred as Gibson-Park did him dirty as badly as Grant Williams had. England need more than a safety blanket at full back.”
Replacement: George Hendy
#2. Cadan Murley
Planet Rugby 4/10: “Had a great moment early on when he scored a debut try but a bit rabbit in the headlights after that. Made a couple of errors no Test player should ever really make, quite frankly. Murley should be backed next weekend as you can see the talent and potential, but it was a big learning curve in Dublin”
Guardian 5/10: “Quickly snaffled a try on debut, but later invited pressure on teammates twice with a serious lack of composure in defence.”
Telegraph 4/10: “After what set to be a dream debut, scoring a try after eight minutes, Ireland turned his life into a nightmare, forcing into some horrible naive errors.”
Evening Standard 5/10: “Got off to a flyer on his debut by scoring inside the opening 10 minutes. Had a tough second half, though, and was shaky on kick defence. Did assist Curry's try.”
Replacement: Tom Roebuck
