The 23-year-old hooker, a product of the Harlequins Academy, has put pen to paper to stay with the club he's called home for eight years.
Riley's journey began at just 15, joining the Academy before being handed the captaincy of the Under-18s. His seamless transition into the senior setup saw him make his debut ahead of the 2019/20 season, and fast forward to 2024, he's racked up 56 appearances in the Quarters. Notably, he was also called up to represent England 'A' against Portugal at Welford Road last season.
One of his standout moments came in a thrilling 28-24 comeback win over Glasgow Warriors in the Investec Champions Cup knockout stages last year, where Riley scored a crucial late try at The Stoop.
"I've been here since I was 15, so it was an easy decision for me to extend my contract. I've really enjoyed the last few seasons and I'm excited for what's to come," said Riley
"It's a big jump from the Academy into the senior setup, but the coaches give you all the tools to make it possible. They drip feed you into the training, scrums, lineouts but the onus is on you to work on your skills to make sure you're ready take the opportunity.
"The competition we have in the squad is great – it pushes each of us on. You don't know who is going to get the nod, so you have to bring you're A-game every week and ultimately that's going to help us improve."
Head Coach Danny Wilson expressed his delight:
"We're delighted Sam has committed his future to the Club.
"Sam is a respected member of our squad, who pushes himself every day to improve and he has a good level of senior experience at the Club, with over 50 appearances to his name already.
"We look forward to seeing how Sam continues to develop and perform in a Quins shirt for seasons to come."
