France hooker Peato Mauvaka has been hit with a three-game ban after being cited for foul play in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations clash between France and Scotland on March 15, 2025.
Appearing via video link, the Toulouse star faced an independent Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Jennifer Donovan (Ireland), alongside ex-internationals John Langford (Australia) and Leon Lloyd (England).
The panel upheld the citing and initially handed Mauvaka a six-week suspension, but the ban was halved to three games after he accepted the charge and showed remorse, good conduct, and a clean disciplinary record.
Mauvaka's Suspension Covers:
- March 23 – Bordeaux Bègles vs Toulouse (Top 14)
- March 29 – Toulouse vs Pau (Top 14)
- April 6 – Toulouse vs Sale Sharks (Champions Cup, Round of 16)

Five players who flopped during the 2025 Six Nations
The 2025 Six Nations had its fair share of drama, with surprise results and standout performances. But for some of the biggest names in the tournament, it was a campaign to forget.
Whether it was fading form, costly mistakes, or just being out of sync, these players couldn't hit their usual heights — and it showed.
Finn Russell (Scotland) – The Magician Who Lost His Wand
Moments of magic? Sure. But when Scotland needed him most, he vanished. A missed conversion against England in the dying moments and a nightmare outing versus France summed up a tournament where his usual swagger fizzled out.
Peter O'Mahony (Ireland) – Time Waits for No Man
A warrior for Ireland, but Father Time has no mercy. This was a tournament too far for the veteran. Struggling to make his usual impact, O'Mahony looked off the pace and was a shadow of the enforcer Ireland fans had come to expect.
Michele Lamaro (Italy) – Captain Chaos
The Italian skipper sets high standards — and didn't meet them. Benched for Italy's final game, he then came on and picked up a baffling yellow card almost immediately. His lack of discipline was costly and summed up a frustrating campaign.
