Double World Cup-winning Springbok Steven Kitshoff has revealed that his neck surgery was a success, as the iconic prop sets his sights on a full recovery and a return to the field.

A Painful Pause
Kitshoff's final outing in the Green and Gold came in last year's Rugby World Cup final, but his celebrations were short-lived. A knee injury ended his Ulster tenure prematurely, and upon returning to South Africa, the loosehead suffered a major neck injury while playing for Western Province against the Griquas.
Kitshoff Speaks Out
Breaking the silence on his condition, Kitshoff took to social media to share an update with fans while urging them to trust only his camp for news:
*”Thrilled to share that my operation was a big success!" Kitshoff wrote on social media. "A massive thank you to my incredible doctors and nurses for their amazing care, and to all my family, friends, and loyal supporters—your support means the world to me!
“It's going to be a long recovery journey, but I'm excited for the future ahead.
“Please trust me for updates on my progress and don't believe any other sources. Here's to healing!"*
Coach's Check-In
Stormers assistant coach Dawie Snyman also shared insights, having visited Kitshoff after surgery:
“We haven't spoken to the specialist or gotten any feedback from his doctors," Snyman admitted. "I actually went to him just as he came out of surgery, just spent a bit of time with him. No update in terms of his situation. The first thing is that we want him to recover, and we'll take it from there."
As Kitshoff embarks on his recovery, fans will be hoping to see the double World Cup winner return stronger than ever.
