The Six Nations Championship is only a week away, with the action getting underway next Friday night in Paris with joint-favourites France hosting Wooden Spoon favourites Wales.

Ireland head into this year’s tournament looking to win their third title in a row for the first time in their history, and looking to become the first nation to do so since the French won four in a row in the late 1980s, though two of those title were shared.

Ireland and France both head into this year’s tournament as joint 7/4 favourites, leaving the title likely to be decided in the fourth round of fixtures on 8th March when the two teams collide in Dublin.

Usual Ireland head coach Andy Farrell will be taking a sabbatical from this year’s Six Nations after being announced as the head coach for the British and Irish Lions’ tour to Australia this summer, with assistant manager Simon Easterby stepping up to the role of Ireland head coach.

England have finished outside the top two in each of the last three tournaments, and head into this year’s edition having lost their last six matches against Tier 1 opposition, making Steve Borthwick’s side third favourites at 7/2 for a first title in five years.

England kick off their campaign in Dublin next Saturday afternoon before three consecutive home games against France, Scotland, then Italy, before ending their campaign in Cardiff.

Scotland’s preparations for this year’s Championships have been hit hard by the recent announcement that star centre Sione Tuipulotu has been ruled of the entire tournament after a training injury.

Gregor Townsend’s side would have fancied themselves to ruffle more than a few feathers in this season’s Championship, eyeing their first top two finish this century, but the news of Tuipulotu’s injury comes as a huge blow.

Italy seem to be getting better year on year, and have won two of their last three matches against Wales, and will fancy themselves of adding another win against them in Rome this year in Week 2.

Wales are odds on favourites for their second Wooden Spoon in succession and are expected to face another tough campaign under head coach Warren Gatland.

2025 Six Nations winner (talkSPORT BET):

  • France – 7/4
  • Ireland – 7/4
  • England – 7/2
  • Scotland – 6/1
  • Wales – 66/1
  • Italy – 150/1
