Rugby fans, mark October 1 to November 13, 2027, in your calendars! This revamped Rugby World Cup format is set to make waves, with a record 24 teams competing in Australia.

RUCK's Autumn Nations Series coverage is proudly powered by the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, dedicated to creating a world free of MND. Join the the fight against MND here.

Approved by the World Rugby Council, this new structure aims to elevate rugby's global reach, impact, and excitement – all while compressing the tournament into a dynamic six-week schedule.

Revamped Pool Play – Now Six Pools of Four!

Gone is the old format; the 2027 tournament brings in six pools with four teams each, followed by a high-stakes round of 16. This fast-paced approach packs the action in and maintains top standards for player welfare with the same number of rest days as seen in France 2023.

A New Era for the International Calendar

Australia 2027 is a key part of World Rugby's shake-up of the global calendar, with predictable scheduling that benefits unions, leagues, and fans alike. Changes to World Rugby Regulation 9 (player release rules) mean fans can count on seeing the stars at every stage.
