Leicester Tigers have wasted no time filling the void left by club captain Julián Montoya's departure, snapping up England hooker Jamie Blamire from Newcastle Falcons, as revealed by The Telegraph.

The 26-year-old Blamire was in high demand, attracting interest from several Premiership powerhouses. Bath and Sale were also vying for his signature, but Leicester emerged victorious in the chase for the Cumbrian hooker according to this latest report.

Blamire is a product of the Newcastle Falcons academy, and the club had high hopes of holding onto one of their international stars, especially after enduring a player exodus at the end of last season. Unfortunately for the Falcons, the allure of Welford Road proved too strong.
