Italy sustained a heavy defeat to Argentina in the Autumn Nations Series, with the Azzurri hit hard by a 50-18 hammering from Los Pumas. Argentina were on a different level compared to their Italian counterparts, and kick started their tour of the Northern hemisphere with an impressive win in Rome.
Here is how the Italian squad performed, with our player ratings from the landslide loss.
15. Ange Capuozzo – N/A
Very unfortunate for the full back who was forced with a head injury after five minutes.
14. Louis Lynagh – 6
The Benetton man had a couple moments where he was able to showcase his pace. However, a dropped ball cost his side as Argentina capitalised on his error to score.
13. Juan Ignacio Brex – 7
One of Italy's standout players, Brex played well with some strong carries and neat hands. In a largely chaotic display, he did not have many attacking opportunities but all in all, a solid display from the outside centre.
12. Tommaso Menoncello – 5
A tough day for Menoncello. Fairly weak in defence and lots of ball was able to get through his channel. Plenty to work on.
11. Monty Ioane – 4
The pacy winger did not have an effect on the game. When he did receive the ball, he often made the wrong decision and was isolated, resulting in Argentina forcing a turnover. One to forget.
10. Paolo Garbisi – 6
Garbisi played decently well; his kicking game was solid and he put in a physical performance with a few tackles. However, his side were very disjointed, which can be attributed through him as fly-half.
9. Martin Page-Relo – 5
Not much to say for the scrum-half. Argentina were very good at disrupting the breakdown but he must improve
