The Telegraph reports that Andy Farrell is set to bring Easterby on board for the Australia tour.

The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) has remained tight-lipped amid reports that interim Ireland coach Simon Easterby is set to join Andy Farrell's British and Irish Lions coaching staff for this summer's tour of Australia.

According to a Daily Telegraph report, Farrell—currently on sabbatical from his Ireland head coach duties—has lined up Easterby for a key role in his Lions setup.

Easterby had been expected to lead Ireland's summer tour to Georgia and Portugal after overseeing a disappointing third-place finish in the 2025 Six Nations.

When approached about the speculation on Monday morning, an IRFU spokesman simply stated:
“At this point, we have no comment to make.”

Farrell is likely to announce his coaching team later this month, with Easterby's inclusion potentially adding a familiar face to the Lions camp.

Interestingly, before these Lions rumours surfaced, Easterby had expressed his commitment to Ireland, saying he was "pretty happy where I am" amid speculation that he might succeed Warren Gatland as Wales head coach.
