It was a moment of mayhem in the lead-up to Bundee Aki's try against Fiji, as referee Hollie Davidson was accidentally barged over by Fijian second-row Mesake Vocevoce.

With the Fijian defence scrambling, Vocevoce came charging in and, despite having her back turned, collided with the official at full speed.

But no worries – Davidson bounced straight back up and, ever the professional, calmly checked with her TMO to ensure Aki's try was legit. She even jokingly asked, "Do I create that hole?" before getting confirmation from the upstairs official that the collision hadn't interfered with Ireland's smooth move through the Fijian defence.

The Fijians, understandably apologetic, were assured by Davidson that she was fine, and fans couldn't help but praise her composure under pressure. One supporter even pointed out: “How is this not a RED CARD? The player can clearly see the ref in the red shirt. If it was a pole, they wouldn’t run into it!”

Another fan took to social media to say, “The amount of sexist comments about Hollie Davidson is disgraceful. She does a better job than some male refs I’ve seen. No place for that garbage in rugby or life.”

But the best reactions came from those impressed by her resilience. One said, “Fair play to Hollie Davidson taking a whack from Vocevoce and getting straight back up. No room for the faint-hearted.”

And another added, “What a hit on Hollie Davidson from the big Fijian second-row, but she’s a tough cookie! Back on her feet to watch Ireland score again.”

Davidson's performance was top-notch – showing her ability to take a knock and still remain the steady hand guiding the game!
