Harlequins claimed a convincing 24-7 victory over Glasgow Warriors at Twickenham Stoop, securing their place in the last 16 of the Investec Champions Cup.

The hosts took control early, with Chandler Cunningham-South opening the scoring in the 14th minute after a pinpoint cross-kick from Marcus Smith. James Chisholm added a second try shortly after, finishing off a break from Cadan Murley. A Smith penalty extended the lead to 17-0 before Glasgow responded with an impressive long-range try from Tom Jordan, reducing the deficit to 17-7 at halftime.

In a closely contested second half, Harlequins’ defense held firm, and a decisive turnover allowed Murley to sprint the length of the field to score, with Smith converting to seal the 24-7 result. While the Warriors were without key playmaker Sione Tuipulotu, Harlequins showcased their defensive organization and strategic kicking to outmaneuver their opponents. Glasgow, already assured of a home tie in the next round, will look to regroup, while Harlequins take momentum into the knockout stages.

Harlequins Player Ratings:

Here's a look at how the Harlequins squad performed during the match, with ratings out of 10 for each player.

1 Fin Baxter – 7
The England looshead continues to develop at a rate of knots. Was formidable in the scrum against Zander Fagerson, seeing his opposite number subbed off before the hour mark must have been sweet. Will look to pressure Ellis Genge for the England shirt in the weeks to come.

2 Jack Walker – 7
The lineout was decent from the Yorkshireman, whose carrying was particularly strong this evening. He started the game with a point to prove, and came off to a well-deserved applause after 71 minutes.

3. Titi Lamositele – 5
The American-Samoan was solid at scrum time, with former British and Irish Lion Rory Sutherland unable to cause him any issues. Quins will be hoping that he can offer more in the loose as the season continues, as he has yet to have the impact of his predecessor Wilco Louw in the carrying department. Substituted after just 40 minutes.

4. James Chisholm – 9
The experiment to start the flanker in the second row paid dividends this evening. This was Chisolm's first start as tighthead lock in the quarters, but it might become a more common sight following tonight's showing. Some typically impressive carries, none more so then when he powered over the line despite it looking inevitable that he would be held up.

5. Stephan Lewies – 6
A solid performance from the former skipper, who, not as flashy as his counterparts in the back five, put the graft in that you need from a big man in the engine room.

6 Chandler Cunningham-South – 9
When CCS turns it on, it appears he's unstoppable. The former London Irishman has struggled to get into the Quins team recently owing to the strong performances of Kenningham and Chisolm on the flanks, but there is simply no-one quite like him as far as the home side are concerned. Scored the first try of the evening and was instrumental in keeping the ball alive with a silky offload out of contact in the second score. Highlight of the game for him came with a crunching hit on Kyle Rowe into touch. Man of the Match.

7. Jack Kenningham – 6
He perhaps didn't steal the show this week, but his tenacity and industrious nature never go amiss. Seldom has a poor game for Danny Wilson's men, and this was another example of that.

8. Alex Dombrandt – 7
His team needed a performance tonight and the skipper certainly turned up. Led from the front and carried well.

9. Will Porter – 5
A mixed bag for the former Wasp, who has had better outings for Quins. Has taken the starting berth from Care in these big fixtures, and will be hoping to be more of a threat in the loose, as well as more accurate with his box kicks, against Northampton Saints next week.

10. Marcus Smith – 7
You just can't keep him out of the game. Lovely miss pass to Murley to setup the first try, 100% from the tee, and was almost so typically instrumental in Quins attempts for a bonus point try. Silenced some of his critics with his game management, as well as his 100% record from the kicking tee.

11. Cadan Murley – 7
The wing looked dangerous in attack, especially when given the ball with plenty of room off the set piece, soring the third try of the evening for his side. However, his biggest moment was an intercept preventing what would have been a huge second try for Glasgow just before the break. Will be hoping to put pressure on fellow wingers in the England squad as he attempts to make his debut.

12. Ben Waghorn – 7
It was the first start for the 20 year old for Quins in all competitions, and what a night he had. He started impressively with a big carry and offload to Murley. Was unlucky to have his team's third try ruled out following an impressive finish. The home faithful will be excited to see what's to come from the centre in the years to come.

13. Oscar Beard – 6
The 23 year old was somehow the eldest centre Quins had on the pitch today, and did well alongside his fellow academy graduate Waghorn. Recently called up into the England squad for the Six Nations, his defence looks up to the task but will need more in attack if he is to challenge Henry Slade or Ollie Lawrence for the outside centre jersey.

14. Nick David – 6
The versatile back looked threatening when going forward, but was not as strong in defence as he would have hoped for. Signed a contract extension for Quins last month, and they will need him this season if they are to go deep into both domestic and European competition.

15. Tyrone Green – 7
The former South Africa U20 has that bit of magic that you just can't teach. He chases after lost causes as if a try awaits him every time, and he somehow manages to get out of dangerous situations with those silky feet. Isn't blessed in the air, particularly noticeable after the escorting changes, but worth his weight in gold for Quins.

REPLACEMENTS

16. Sam Riley – 5
Not too much of an opportunity for the academy graduate to make his mark.

17. Wyn Jones – 6
Crazy to think that the 48-cap Welshman was third choice at the start of the season for Quins. Won an important scrum penalty when Glasgow looked threatening.

18. Simon Kerrod – 6
An impressive effort from the South African, who was asked to do the whole of the second half. Never seems to let Quins down.

19. Joe Launchbury – 6
The stalwart came on for Lewies after the hour mark, and was good value for the time he spent on the park.

20. Tom Lawday – 6
Replaced the skipper with 6 minutes to go, and soon after showed his prowess by getting onto the end of a Smith half-break, which almost led to Quins' bonus point try.

21. Will Evans – 6
Quins' sixth forward on the bench was unable to show his renowned jackling skills, but alongside Launchbury, ensured the intensity did not drop from the bench.

23. Danny Care – 6
Slow to start from the man the home crowd so adore, who has confirmed he will be at the Stoop next season, but the pace he gets the ball away at from rucks is certainly an area he can pass on to Porter.
