Glasgow Warriors fell just a point short with a tense final ten minutes for both sides. A tantalising second half which saw Glasgow fight back from 12-points down to bring the game one point shy of level with seconds left to play.
A first half score of 13-12 promised a great second half and that is exactly what both sides delivered. However Toulon did just enough to hold on at home despite a nervy second half for the home supporters on the French Riviera.

See below the player ratings for Glasgow Warriors against Toulon:
1.Jamie Bhatti-6
Held his own well against a physical Toulon pack around the field. A solid scrummaging display against his opposite number showed a good 45 minutes played for Bhatti.
2. Gregor Hiddlestone-6
Lineout throws were solid and enabled a strong platform for Glasgow to launch from. The entire visiting front row gave solid accounts of themselves, and Hiddlestone was no exception.
3. Sam Talakai-4
Gave away a really silly yellow card right on the half time break and it cost his team as Toulon pounced on their man advantage and killed Glasgow’s momentum.
4. Olujare Oguntibeju-7
A really industrious showing in the second half from Oguntibeju. He was everywhere in defence and really shone in the second half and was rewarded with a try for his good efforts.
5. Alex Samuel-5
Looked lacklustre at times but was solid enough at set piece to stay relevant in the game. Struggled after the break and was quickly changed early in the second half.
6. Henco Venter-5
Venter looked off the pace of the game and struggled to get involved in the proceedings. Gave Toulon far too much in terms of his discipline.
7. Rory Darge-5
Another performance that Glasgow fans would’ve wanted to see more from Darge just looked to struggle against his back row opposite numbers. Was unfortunate to not play a further part but was part of the huge pack reshuffle early in the second half.
8. Jack Mann-6
Completed a full eighty minutes against a physically demanding Toulon pack. Mann matched that physicality and gave a good account for himself in the French Riviera both with and without the ball.
9. Ben Afshar-7
Afshar impressed in attack kept the Glasgow attack ticking and provided a real zip in the first half which helped keep Glasgow in the fight in the early stages.
10. Duncan Weir-5
Weir never had the chance to change the game really and was starved of any major opportunities. Ran his players decently well from flyhalf but never made a lasting impact.
11. Kyle Rowe-5
Lacked real chances and looked loose at time with the ball in hand but wasn’t terrible by any margin just was unable to make a stamp on the match.
12. Sione Tuipulotu-7
The Glasgow skipper led from the front and was his physical self in defence and ran the Glasgow attack with some great decisions with ball in hand and some great kicking plays gave his backs room to work with.
13. Stafford Mcdowall-6
Similar to his center partner looked really busy around the pitch. Was always going to have a tought match up against Leicester Fainga’anuku but held his own when he could and gave a good account of himself.
14. Jamie Dobie-6
Looked exciting on the wing and gave Glasgow some attacking dynamism when they needed it. Looked comfortable under Toulon’s kicking game and never really put a foot wrong.
15. Josh McKay-6
Grabbed his side a much needed try and similar to Dobie was comfortable with his opponents ariel bombardment in the backfield.
Replacements-
16. Johnny Matthews-6
17. Rory Sutherland-6
18. Zander Fagerson-6
19. Scott Cummings-5
20. Matt Fegerson-5
21. Angus Fraser-6
22. George Horne-6
23. Tom Jordan-5
