Playing against a 14-man (and briefly 13-man) Welsh side, the victory ended a lengthy losing streak for the Scots and showcased Reuben's growing influence on the pitch.
The 19-year-old was called up to the Scotland U20s squad at the start of the tournament, following in the footsteps of his father, Kenny, who earned 70 caps for his country.
Speaking after the game, Reuben was buzzing: “That was unbelievable. We knew we could do it, and that is the energy we need for every game.”
A Tough Decision with Family Ties
Reuben's rugby journey hasn't been without its twists. He previously represented England at age-grade level and was also eligible to play for Wales through his grandfather, Terry Yorath. However, he ultimately chose to represent Scotland, a decision that delighted his dad.
“He’s pretty happy, I think,” Reuben admitted. “He pretended when I was with England that he was happy with it, but he really wasn’t. He’s made that very clear now. He struggled with it, and I think he’s, yeah, very, very happy."
His mum Gabby was equally emotional about his choice: “I think she was just as emotional as my dad, because, obviously, she’s seen my dad wear that shirt.”
Senior Call-Up on the Horizon?
With Gregor Townsend likely to be without several key stars during the 2025 British & Irish Lions tour, whispers of a senior call-up for Reuben are starting to grow louder. Scotland are set for a two-Test tour of the Pacific Islands next summer, kicking things off with a fixture against the Maori All Blacks in New Zealand.
If his upward trajectory continues, Reuben Logan could be pulling on the senior jersey sooner than expected.
