Former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg has welcomed a baby boy with his girlfriend Leonna Mayor — just six weeks after narrowly avoiding jail for abusing his wife.

The ex-fullback, who now plays for Montpellier, was handed a community payback order in January after admitting a single charge of domestic abuse against his estranged wife, Gillian. His five-year campaign of intimidation saw him shout and swear at her, bombard her with “alarming and distressing” messages, and even track her movements.

Hogg, 32, split from Gillian in 2023 and went public with his new romance with TV presenter and former jockey Mayorjust days after his wife of seven years had given birth to their fourth child.

Now, he and Mayor have celebrated the arrival of their first child together, Teddy John Hogg, who was born prematurely earlier this month.

“A beautiful perfect bundle”

Mayor—once dubbed “the world’s sexiest jockey”—shared the news on social media, posting a snap of the newborn and confirming both mum and baby were doing well.

“So that was a BIG week,” she wrote. “One that presented us with our little man Teddy John Hogg. A beautiful perfect bundle on 12/2/2025 at just 4lb 6oz.”

The new mum praised midwives at Saint Roch Hospital for their care, revealing Teddy had been closely monitored but was allowed home just a few days later.

She also warned followers to expect a flood of baby pics: “Apologies for the incoming baby spam, it’s going to be constant FYI. AND HOW DID I NOT KNOW HOW UNBELIEVABLE IT IS TO HAVE A BABY?”

Hogg’s MBE under review

While Hogg celebrates his new arrival, the scrutiny over his 2024 New Year Honours MBE continues to intensify. Calls for the rugby star to be stripped of the award have reached Westminster, with SNP Commons leader Stephen Flynnconfirming the matter is now “formally reviewed.”

In a post on X, Flynn wrote: “The state honour that follows his name must be rescinded. Having raised it in the Commons, and with the relevant committee, it's been confirmed that the matter is being formally reviewed.”

With the pressure mounting, Hogg’s future as an MBE looks increasingly uncertain.
