Former Leinster star Rocky Elsom refuses to cooperate with Gardaí

Former Leinster and Ireland flanker Rocky Elsom has reacted to an international arrest warrant being issued for him following some serious allegations in relation to his time at French club Narbonne.
The warrant is related to his conduct as president of the French club in 2015 and 2016,.
The 41-year-old was found guilty in absentia of forgery and misuse of corporate assets by a Narbonne court, for which he was sentenced to five years in prison. He is accused of embezzling an estimated €700,000 (£586,000) before exiting the club, L'Equipe reported.
On Thursday, the Sydney Morning Herald published a statement from Elsom saying he was not concerned about being detained by Gardaí.
According to the Irish Times, Gardaí are aware of the international arrest warrant in place for Elsom and are prepared to facilitate his extradition if required
The former Wallabies captain is currently living in south Dublin, where he works as a rugby coach at the Catholic University School on Leeson Street.
"The police are not the concern, but the length of time I could be held in custody before my appeal can be heard is a concern," he told the newspaper.
Elsom also said he did not intend to hand himself over to the authorities or voluntarily return to France.
"I would say that if I went to France, I would be in custody until the appeal is heard and the timelines mentioned earlier are concerning," he added.
