The hooker's Champions Cup outing against Castres on Saturday ended in frustration as he limped off with a hamstring issue in the closing stages of Saracens’ 32-24 loss.
"Jamie has hurt his hamstring. We’re not quite sure how serious that hamstring is at the moment," said Saracens director of rugby, Mark McCall, adding further uncertainty to George's Six Nations hopes.
The injury came just days after the 33-year-old was replaced as England captain by Maro Itoje in Steve Borthwick's Six Nations squad announcement.
With the Ireland clash looming on February 1, George's involvement is now under a serious cloud.
After coming on for two-try Theo Dan in the 55th minute, George’s night took a turn for the worse when he was forced off, leaving Saracens to ponder the extent of his hamstring problem.
