"Do something different" – Premiership Women's Rugby announces innovative move for final round of 2024/25 season

Premiership Women's Rugby have today announced an innovative climax to the 2024-25 league campaign with all matches in Round 18 moved to Friday night, kicking off at 7.45pm.TNT Sports have chosen the compelling match between champions Gloucester-Hartpury and Harlequins (currently second) as their live game on that final weekend, on 21 February, as the battle for the semi-final places comes to a close.

Amy Kimber-Roberts, Strategy and Operations Director at PWR said: "We want to finish the league campaign in style and do something different, which has always been the PWR way.
"So, we came up with the idea of PWR’s first-ever Friday night round of matches. If you look at how close the top five are at the moment, these games are likely to be pivotal.
“Friday Night Rugby in our final round also gives our players extra rest ahead of the semi-finals, which take place on the following weekend, with our Final at the StoneX Stadium on Sunday, 16 March.”
The latest set of fixture announcements start in Round 12, where the re-run of the 2024 Final between Bristol Bears and Gloucester-Hartpury has been moved to Sunday, 5 January and will be live on TNT Sports. In the same round, Trailfinders Women v Harlequins will now kick off at 3pm on Saturday, 4 January.
PWR can also confirm the matches in Rounds 15, 16 and 17.
In Round 15, the live match on TNT Sports is the East Midlands derby between Leicester Tigers and Loughborough Lightning, which is on Saturday, 25 January at 12.45pm.
In Round 16, the TNT Sports cameras are at Sandy Park, where Harlequins are the visitors, before heading to Saracens v Exeter Chiefs in Round 17.
