OPINION: Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus capped 12 new Springboks in 2024 and might add a few more in 2025 and beyond.

Seven of those 12 players are currently 23 or younger, signalling a clear succession plan by Erasmus with World Cup 2027 in mind.

The list includes Young Player of the Year Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and the bulldozing Cameron Hanekom.

The 2024-25 season saw more talent emerge on the scene from South Africa's United Rugby Championship franchises.

Erasmus has invited 82 players to the first Springbok alignment camps of 2025, many of whom are Under-23 and younger.
