In what was a tight opening 20 minutes, with no team giving the other an inch, the match was a stalemate until the 22nd minute when Ross Thompson slotted a penalty to open the scoring which would be the only score of the half.
Glasgow's discipline didn't help their cause when they were in good positions to convert territory into points, with the hosts also squandering a few opportunities in the red-zone.

The second-half saw Edinburgh dominate territory and possession as Glasgow's ill-discipline continued to be an issue.
Glasgow's defensive work kept Edinburgh out and pushed them back on more than one occasion and forced the errors from the hosts.
Glasgow broke the try-scoring deadlock when penalty try was awarded in the 68th minute with Harrison recieving a yellow card for collapsing the Glasgow maul.
Two minutes later Pierre Schoeman crossed the line with a try of his own through a rolling maul to get Edinburgh back in front.
Glasgow had one final opportunity to win it with three minutes to to inside Edinburgh's half with an attacking scrum, but the hosts' defensive efforts saw Glasgow make the error with the ball going forward into touch with seconds remaining.
The hosts, whose scrum was operating like a well oiled machine all night opted for the eight-man set-piece which was enough to see Edinburgh get the win against the defending champions.
