Updated rankings after Ireland, England win

In an entertaining day of action in the Six Nations, Ireland staved off a gallant effort from Wales to claim a 27-18 win before England finally snapped a four-match losing streak against Scotland, claiming the Calcutta Cup with a 16-15 victory.

These results haven’t had too much of an impact on the latest world rankings, though, with England only slightly improving their points tally in sixth place, having denied Scotland the opportunity to leapfrog ahead of them.

Meanwhile, Ireland remain 1.13 ranking points behind the Springboks, with their win over Wales not impacting their tally due to the fact that the Welsh still dwell down in a lowly 12th place.

Following on from Saturday’s wins for Ireland and England, there is one more clash in round three of the Six Nations, with France facing Italy on Sunday (17:00 kick off, SA time), but this game also won’t have much impact on the rankings.
