SPRINGBOK CAPTAIN LINKED WITH MOVE TO FORMER CLUB
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has been linked with a sensational return to his former side – the Stormers.
Initially, Stormers coach, John Dobson expressed interest in bringing the Springboks captain back to Cape Town.
"It's out there that Siya would be interested in a move back and it's something we'd entertain, but he's under contract with the Sharks," Stormers coach John Dobson recently told the media.
"The first conversation is – if Siya would like to join us – that would be something between him and the Sharks; he's got a contract there that we respect. He is a quality guy, a great leader. He's a great player with a long history at the Stormers," Dobson concluded.
However, talks have started to quiet down since these reported links first made headlines.
Meanwhile, the Sharks are determined not to lose Bok captain Kolisi's services before his contract ends in 2027.
"The Stormers have not even formally approached the Sharks about the possibility of releasing Siya from his contract early," the relevant source stated on Rapport.
Meaning, he is unlikely to leave the Sharks to join the Stormers.
POLLARD LINKED WITH SA RETURN
Handre Pollard’s Leicester Tigres contract is set to expire in June. So, several top clubs are on notice.
As many as 10 clubs have already shown interest in the Springboks signature. Interestingly, a couple of South African sides have shown interest in bringing him back to SA.
"Handre Pollard is in high demand, with as many as 10 clubs worldwide reportedly willing to pay more than R10 million for the two-time World Cup-winning Springbok flyhalf," SARugby reported.
At the time of publication, the name of the SA-based sides interest have not been disclosed.
