Springbok and Bulls speedster Kurt-Lee Arendse could reportedly miss the Vodacom URC playoffs if he is not registered by 30 April.
Arendse recently headed to Japan on a short-term sabbatical deal which was part of his four-year contract extension signed in 2023 with the Bulls.
According to a report on Sport24, the Springbok ace, who joined the Mitsubishi Dynaboars on a short-term sabbatical contract, may have to extend his stay in Japan depending on how his team performs in latter stages of the League One campaign.
This could potentially result in the Springbok not returning in time for the URC registration deadline on 30 April.
"Whether he'll be back depends on how his Japanese team performs. If they're in the playoffs or battling relegation, he won't return," Bulls CEO Edgar Rathbone explained.
"To be fair, Kurt-Lee hasn't had a break in 18 months, and he probably deserves one."
"This deal is life-changing for him. We can't be selfish – it's about making a real impact on his life," Rathbone added about the Springbok player’s current situation.
HOW MUCH OF A LOSS WILL THE SPRINGBOK BE FOR THE BULLS?
