Springbok legend weighs in on Fienberg-Mngomezulu vs Libbok debate

Former Springbok Joel Stranksy has given his thoughts on who should be South Africa's starting fly-half.
"I'm a believer that you play your best player in his best position," the 1995 World Cup winner told Planet Rugby. "And I think Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is the next Springbok fly-half.
"I can see he has a massive future ahead of him.
"I think he was outstanding (in 2024). He had the most chances this year (at fly-half for the Springboks). And almost immediately, he's close there already. I would be picking him."
"But I would really feel for Manie Libbok, he has this ability to do things other players can't do.
"He lights the field up at times. He's so creative. But I would not want to see Sacha playing out of position just to accommodate another player.
"I think you want to play your best player in his position."
Rassie sends positive message following surgery
Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus was quick to let fans know he was fine following a surprise surgery after the Autumn Series, which saw his side dismantle England, Scotland and Wales in their own backyard.
"I'm not going to show the pictures because I don't think it's worth showing. All OK, I think I will be out of the hospital by the weekend," said Erasmus.
"I wanted to thank the fans for the amazing support this year. Even when we tried some things and things weren't going well, you were always standing behind us.
"To our players who made it into the Dream XV and Sacha nominated and almost got it there, we are all proud of those guys,
"I hope you have a great time over the festive season. Fortunately, we have the URC now and some of the boys are playing, to all the fans I hope you have good holidays.
"Let's stay nice and humble, support each other and help us keep our feet on the ground. We play for you guys and for South Africa, also for those abroad who understand and see what we stand for as the Springboks – I appreciate that a lot.
"At the end of the day, it is all just a game that we are all proud of. Merry Christmas and hope you all have a lekker festive time. I will probably only hop on Twitter next (year) again. Cheers."
