In one of the most remarkable Currie Cup semi-finals in history, the Sharks secured a thrilling victory over the Bulls on Saturday, with the coastal side progressing to the title decider after the scores were level 40-40 at full-time.

In what was a simply crazy game, momentum swung one way and then the next, but the Bulls were ultimately unable to make a numerical advantage count for a large part of the latter stages of this match.

After the scores were deadlocked after a regulation 80 minutes, the match went into extra-time, but even that couldn’t separate the sides. Ultimately, the result came down to the fact that the Sharks had scored the most tries on the day.

Currie Cup delivers

Earlier in the day, the Lions beat the Cheetahs in a 12-try semi-final that served as another reminder that the domestic competition still has a lot to offer.

With the scores tied 19-19 at half time, Sanele Nohamba's stunning try in the last quarter helped steer the table-topping Lions to a 43-34 victory over the defending champions at Ellis Park.
