The Cheetahs have confirmed that loose forward Aidon Davis will return to Bloemfontein from Premiership outfit Exeter Chiefs next season.

The 29-year-old Davis made more than 50 appearances for the Cheetahs before signing with the English club in 2022.

He was forced to step away from the game in December to undergo chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and will link up with the Free Staters in July after 25 appearances for the Chiefs, scoring four tries.

“Aidon is a man of integrity, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome him back," Cheetahs director of rugby Frans Steyn said.

"His tireless work ethic and positive demeanour are assets to the team, and his wealth of experience will undoubtedly bolster our efforts.”
