RG locked in for Leinster debut

Springbok world champion RG Snyman will finally make his competitive bow for Leinster when the Irish giants face Benetton in the Vodacom URC on Saturday.

The two-time World Cup winner is one of 12 personnel changes to the Leinster starting XV from the lineup that beat Dragons last Friday, with the three players retained from that game all lining up in a new position in Treviso.

Snyman, who swapped Munster for Leinster in the off-season, has been sidelined with a foot injury, watching from the stands as Leo Cullen's charges secured victories over Edinburgh and Dragons in the opening rounds of the competition.

His return will be welcome news for Rassie Erasmus, after the Boks had to cope with a second-row crisis during the 2024 Rugby Championship, with Franco Mostert, Lood de Jager and Jean Kleyn also sidelined for the tournament.
