Rassie 'an entitled arsehole'

Springbok Rassie Erasmus has harshly made self-deprecating comments relating to his younger days as a player.
Yes, you read that right, Rassie Erasmus has come out and criticised himself for what he perceives as selfish behaviour during his playing days in the mid 90s and early 2000s.
Erasmus’ playing career summary
Erasmus, as one the game’s great loose forwards during his heyday, played provincially for the Free State Cheetahs, Golden Lions, Gats and Stormers; while also crafting out a Springbok Test career of note.
After making his Test debut for the Springboks in 1997, Rassie would go on to earn a total of 36 international caps and score seven tries over the span of four years (1997-2001).
Rassie the coach
After various coaching stints at provincial and club level in and out of South Africa, he finally took charge of the Springboks in 2018 and would guide the team on a fairytale run of two back-to-back World Cup wins in 2019 and 2023.
He did all that, while implementing previously unheard of innovation and tactics, not just to the Springboks but to the game of rugby itself.
Rassie roasts himself
In a series of tweets – each accompanied by highlight compilations – posted on his personal Twitter account, Erasmus took a trip down memory lane.
Starting off with the first post, Rassie admitted that he was a good player, but a terrible teammate to his colleagues. He also said he would never have picked himself for the Springboks.
“Played lekka rugby but was an entitled arsehole of a teammate! Only played and worried about myself!! I would never pick that version of myself for the Boks,” Rassie wrote on X.
In his second and third posts in the thread, Rassie shared another video compilation of himself and said:
“This was my 1st five Test(s), rugby not so lekka but did everything for the team(one can lose that and your team mates very quickly.
“This version I would pick,” Rassie concluded.
