Former Irish flanker Alan Quinlan believes Jacques Nienaber could be a strong contender to replace Andy Farrell as Ireland head coach after the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Speaking on sports show Off The Ball, Quinlan praised Nienaber's impressive track record, highlighting his role in leading South Africa to two World Cup titles.
"Obviously, his track record and what he's done with South Africa has been phenomenal," said Quinlan. "I'm sure if he was available, if Andy Farrell was to step down or move aside, of course he would come into the conversation."

Currently signed with Leinster as a senior coach until 2026, Nienaber's future in international rugby remains uncertain. Despite his success, he has previously downplayed the idea of a return to the Test arena.
However, Quinlan suggested that Nienaber's performance at Leinster could shape future opportunities: "He will be judged this year on Leinster won't he and how they do in Europe."
